Kuganha Tented Camp carries a long legacy. The vision for this remote safari sanctuary began in the early 2010s when French conservationist and founder of Kuganha, Damien Vergnaud, broke ground on what was imagined to be a transformative wellness-led safari escape. The first three tents opened to the public in 2016, immediately capturing the hearts of travellers with their sense of space, serenity, and intimacy.

However, the original dream – a fully realised spa and wellness destination set within the Karoo could not be completed at the time.

Now, in its next evolution, Kuganha is finally being reimagined and brought to life in its full form. Honouring Damien’s vision and plan, the new camp will soon welcome guests to a sophisticated and secluded retreat where remote becomes the new definition of luxury.
